Musim penghargaan untuk industri perfilman telah dimulai. Salah satunya ajang National Board of Review awards yang telah menyeleksi film terbaik untuk tahun 2017. Dan kemenangan untuk kategori tertinggi dari organisasi berbasis New York yang telah berdiri selama 108 tahun ini, Best Film jatuh pada The Post karya Steven Spielberg.

Selain memenangkan kategori tersebut, The Post juga memenangkan kedua bintang utamanya, Tom Hanks dan Meryl Streep untuk kategori Best Actor dan Best Actress. The Post berkisah tentang peran The Washington Post dalam menerbitkan The Pentagon Papers.

Lebih lanjut, untuk kategori aktor dan aktris pendukung jatuh kepada Willem Dafoe (The Florida Project) dan Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird) Selain menang dalam kategori tersebut, Lady Bird juga meraih kemenangan kategori sutradara terbaik untuk Greta Gerwig. Sedangkan untuk naskah terbaik diberikan kepada The Disaster Artist dan Phantom Thread.
